  • There is a new Detailed Table (B05012PR) available in order to publish nativity information for more geographies in Puerto Rico.

Children; Household Relationship

  • There is a new Collapsed Table (C09019) to replace Table C09016. Although the lines in the two tables are the same, the sourcing for this new table uses the most up to date relationship categories based on questionnaire changes in 2008.

Health Insurance

  • There are two new Detailed Tables (B27022 and B27023) for health insurance coverage status and private health insurance by sex by enrollment status for young adults aged 19 to 25.

Modified Tables

Race

  • Updates have been made to the 2012 ACS Selected Population Profiles (SPP) for race iteration groups. Please note that not all groups meet the population threshold to be included in the 1-year release.
    • The Census Bureau worked with American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments to ensure that tribal groupings are accurately reflected in Census Bureau race code lists over time. Due to changes in sourcing, iteration group definition, or sourcing conflicts with other existing iteration groups, the following race iteration groups have been deleted, but information can still be found in the more detailed iteration groups that are available:
      • American Indian alone
      • Alaska Native alone
      • American Indian alone or in any combination
      • Alaska Native alone or in any combination
      • Eskimo tribal grouping alone
      • Eskimo tribal grouping alone or in any combination

Ancestry

  • The ancestry group Somalian is now available as a Selected Population Profile.

Foreign Born; Citizenship; Year of Entry; Nativity

  • "Year of Entry" and "Year of Naturalization" categories have been shifted from “2000 or later” to “2010 or later” as highest category, from “1990 to 1999” to “2000 to 2009” for the second highest category, and other categories have been shifted accordingly. The tables affected are B05005, B05005PR, B05007, B05008, B05011, C05005, C05005PR, C05007, C05008, C05011, CP02, CP02PR, DP02, DP02PR, S0502, S0502PR, S0503, S0504, S0505, S0506, S2601A, S2601A-PR, S2601B, S2601C, S2601C-PR, S0201, and S0201PR. We posted one table shell, B05005, as an example of this change.

  • A new place of birth code “463” has been assigned to South Sudan for Tables B05006, C05006, and S0201.
  • Revisions to the Detailed Table B05006 have been made to reflect the resolution of ex-Yugoslavia nations' statehood. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia are shown on their own lines. However, Yugoslavia is no longer shown in Table B05006; instead, it is included in the category “Other Eastern Europe.”

  • The term “Linguistically isolated households" has been changed to “Households with no one age 14 and over who speaks English only or speaks English ‘very well’ ” in Subject Tables S0501, S0502, S0503, S0504, S0505, and S0506. We posted one table shell, S0501, as an example of this change.

Educational Attainment

  • Text in the education section of the Narrative Profile changed from “...percent of people 25 years and over had at least graduated from high school...” to “...percent of people 25 years and over had a high school diploma or equivalency...” to clarify interpretation. The percent refers to only those whose highest level of school completed is a high school diploma or equivalency.

Poverty

  • The universe description for Tables GCT1703 and R1703 has been updated from “Population 65 years and over” to “Population 65 years and over for whom poverty status is determined.”

Housing

  • The distribution of “Year Structure Built” and/or “Year Householder Moved Into Unit” has been changed from “2005 or later” to “2010 or later” for tables B25026, B25038, B25109, B25110, B25113, B25114, B25128, B25034, B25036, B25107, B25108, B25111, B25112, B25126, CP04, DP04, R2504, R2502, S2502, S0201-PR, and S0201 in order for data users to have access to more timely and useful estimates. We posted one table shell, B25026, as an example of this change.

  • Detailed Tables B09006, B09016, B09017, and C09016 have been deleted since tables B09018, B09019, and B09020 use the most up to date relationship categories based on questionnaire changes in 2008.

Housing

  • Detailed Tables B25028 and B25029 have been deleted since users can now get five years of viable estimates for “Tenure by Year Householder Moved Into Unit” in Table B25038 and “Tenure by Year Structure Built” in Table B25036.
