The Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES) is a cross-sector multi-purpose survey designed to provide key statistics on the U.S. economy, while reducing respondent burden and streamlining Census Bureau operations. It replaces and integrates seven annual business surveys into one survey. Expenditures on robotics equipment were previously collected and published in two of the replaced surveys, the Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (ACES) and the Annual Survey of Manufactures (ASM). The AIES consolidates the collection and dissemination of robotics data. The estimates are published nationally at the 2- and 3-digit North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) levels for all sectors, with additional state-level estimates available for manufacturing at the sector level.

Survey data for this product is from collection year 2023 and 2024 and will be updated annually.

This experimental data product is subject to disclosure avoidance thresholds and may not meet some of the Census Bureau’s statistical quality standards.
